Even some of the traditional methods like word-of-mouth referrals still work just as well, and can still bring you a chunk of cash each month. Here are some tips to help you bring in as many customers as you can while you're setting up your business and getting your online marketing programs in place.
You have to know your market.. Whatever your line of business, you've got to know your market. You have to know who your clients are, what do they want and what makes them buy? You need to do some market research, go check out your competitors, see what their doing, do it better, create a marketing plan, but take the effort to put yourself in the shoes of your buyers.
You need to bring out your benefits, you might be dead proud of those benefits, but the cold fact is, your buyers could care less about all the bells and whistles you've packed into your product. They just want one question answered: what's it going to do for me?
That's what all your marketing has to be about: explaining to your buyers how you're going to improve their life.
One of the main things is to have a site that sells, keep it simple yet attractive enough to look professional keep an eye on it make sure all the links and forms are working, a dead link could turn into a lost sale or subscriber...
Always be on the look out for a marketing opportunity, keep a set of business cards with you no matter where you go, you never know when the opportunity to make new business contacts will arise and so don't allow yourself to be caught off guard when opportunities arise...
Keep your customers happy and satisfied, when it comes to building customers, there are the ones who buy once, and there are the ones who buy lots of times. It's the latter that you want to pack into your customer list; they're worth their weight in gold. This is where great customer support comes in, try to over deliver when ever you get the chance..
To wrap it up, customers are customers no matter where you find them. Customers found on the web respond to many of the same things that make them customers in the real world. The sooner you think in those terms and apply that knowledge to your site, the better your site will perform.
