Duplicate Content Myth or Fact?

There’s a lot of talk going around the forums about duplicate content and whether or not you will get penalized for using it?

It’s hard for one person to tell, you have to kind of take what people say with a grain of salt, but I always like to listen to whom I know to be hard core testers and take what they say and test myself…

I am going to post a few links to some good post about this subject:

1) Here is a great post about this subject and more: http://www.warriorforum.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=77891

2) Here is a great post from Jack Humphrey: http://www.jackhumphrey.com/fridaytrafficreport/duplicate-content-scare/

3) Here is a post from http://www.webpronews.com : http://www.webpronews.com/insiderreports/searchinsider/wpn-49-20060228SESNYDuplicateContentJeopardizesYourSite.html

These are just a few pages to start your search, you can also do a search on google for the term duplicate content and check out the 52,400,000 results :)

Like everybody, I have an opinion and I am biased, I think they do weed out result that have the exact same content on the same site twice or more times, I also think that if you copy a site to the tee you will be upset with the results, but if you use other peoples articles or PLR articles along with your own original content you will have nothing to worry about.

If you have PLR you should try all you can to change it up the best you can to make it more unique and you will be pleased with the results..

Until next time,

I seem to agree, if the search engines are penilizing for dupe content then how do all theses news sites keep staying strong when they all have the same news on their sites?

    Dave…

Interesting topic… I’m working in this industry myself and I don’t agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future…
